Rzeczpospolita in its issue dated 3 March 2011 published an article about virtual exchanges. It seems that cost effective communication systems constitute an ideal solution for small and medium enterprises. Start-up cost for a virtual exchange is low. A user only pays a monthly system rent. First of all, however, a company has to purchase VoIP gateways or telephones using IP technology. Broad-band Internet access is also crucial.
According to Jan Wyrwiński, President of the Board of FreecoNet Tlenofon, there are many reasons which convince companies to use virtual exchanges. The most important of them include: no need for capital investment in infrastructure and lower telecommunication costs.
