You're no longer restricted to one location that has adequate IP equipment in order to use Internet telephony from FreecoNet. With the new application - FreecoNet Phone - users can now enjoy the freedom of low-cost VoIP calls during business delegation, trip or holidays. It is enough to install your new softphone from FreecoNet on a notebook and bring a headset with microphone.
FreecoNet Phone is a freeware application that you can install on your computer and use as a phone. In order to be able to perform voice calls, you need external headphones with a microphone and Internet access. The application enables to handle up to two voice calls simultaneously and is also integrated with MS Outlook. You can call from it directly by selecting desired contact from the phone book. For all incoming calls, the program automatically searches through the contact list and displays information about the caller. Softphone is adapted for the use in FreecoNet - after the installation process, all you need to do is to enter your login and password to enjoy free calls to all FreecoNet’s registered users, and low cost calls to everyone outside the platform. There is no limitation to the place, you can carry out your calls from anywhere in the world.
The new application is fully compatible with RFC - technical standards applicable to telecommunications services and voice transmission. It was created as a result of cooperation with the German company Global IT Telecommunications Ltd., which had already created softphones for Raiffeisen Bank and Lufthansa Airlines. Application can be downloaded for free from FreecoNet’s website. Users who wish to pursue more than 2 connections at the same time, video calls and have the additional bandwidth, may choose to pay for softphone’s commercial version, which costs € 24.95 and is available through Global IT Telecommunications Ltd online store.
