FreecoNet certifies new VoIP equipment 25.02.2010
For the second time FreecoNet grants certificates to VoIP equipment. The certificate asserts that the device allows you to use Internet telephony and additional services from FreecoNet confidently. Among honored were two FRITZ! Box routers (models 5113 and 7113), IP phones produced by Yealink (T20P, T22P, T26P, T28P) and Siemens (A580IP).
Certified AVM - FRITZ! Box 5113 and FRITZ! Box 7113 - are versatile and cost-effective routers, which are perfect for small home or office network. They have ADSL modem, dual-port VoIP gateway and Ethernet port. Popular FRITZ routers offer the ability to join 2 independent analog telephones. Also advanced security features are available - including firewall protection against hackers type DDoS certified by German TUV protection and parental responsibility. FRITZ! BOX 7113 also supports wireless network.
IP Phones from Yealink make their first appearance among trademarks certified by FreecoNet. Models T20P, T22P, T26P and T28P - are advanced IP phones designed for business users. All provide very clean and clear audio in HD quality. In addition they have built in router and many useful features (such as hold and call transfer options). The simplest model - T20P - supports 2 VoIP accounts, each with separate and individual configuration settings. More advanced models allow you to connect from 3 up to 6 VoIP accounts. They also offer more features such as phonebook or accessories like secretarial expansion panel for adding extra programming buttons.
Next to C470IP another model of the GIGASET Siemens brand joins FreecoNet certified equipment – the new model is A580IP. With its help, you can make same VoIP and fixed telephone network (optional) calls. There is also more flexibility thanks to DECT GAP standard, which provides the possibility to connect up to 5 additional handsets, while being able to have 3 simultaneous conversations (2 for VoIP and one by a fixed network) at the same time. In addition, both models have a wide range of features such as CLIP caller identification, hands-free mode, alarm and phone book. Currently, under the new agreement in FreecoNet, you can get one out of two certified Siemens phones for a symbolic price of 1 PLN.
All the necessary tests were conducted in research laboratory in Poznań – the facility of FreecoNet dedicated to VoIP technology. The equipment was tested for smooth interaction with FreecoNet platform and compliance with RFC standards, as well as comfort of use (including quality of call, stability of operation and compatibility with VoIP additional services).
It was the second edition of certifying VoIP equipment by FreecoNet. Previous one took place in May 2009 when the certificates were granted to: FRITZ! Box (models 7170 and 7270), Cisco Systems (SPA921, SPA922, SPA941, SPA942, SPA962, SPA2102, SPA3102, PAPT2) Grandstream (BT200 and HT502) and Siemens (C470IP).
