FreecoNet API 2.04 and other upgrades available 24.07.2009
Recently on FreecoNet platform – one of the most popular internet telephony providers in Poland – there have many improvements were introduced. Telco clients may use improved solutions such as: 2.04 FreecoNet API software interface, updated Firefox plug-in – FreecoNet Manager and many new functionalities e.g. connection cost announcement.
FreecoNet API is a solution enabling integration of external systems with FreecoNet platform, allowing at the same time to extend the functionality of any telecommunications system with possibility to initiate phone calls from CRM systems or social portals. Upgraded FreecoNet API was equipped with scheduled mass call functionality onto any amount of numbers and at defined time. Another change in FreecoNet is FreecoNet Manager update, which may be applied by users of Firefox web browser. This plug-in enables easy monitoring of particular account, most of all amount of money on the account, by displaying status in browser’s status bar. Updated 0.8.2 version is more stable and contains several innovations: presenting registered account status (gateway, softphone, IP phone), possibility to integrate connections among two numbers, and full integration with FreecoNet API 2.0. Additionally FreecoNet introduced several other functionalities e.g. new types of announcements. In users panel there may be activated e.g. notification about the cost of established connection – immediately after dialing the phone number the announcement is replayed informing about the rate for each minute of the phone call. Those FreecoNet users that use “Find me” functionality – that enables switching the incoming call onto different FreecoNet accounts – gained a new option of reaching the caller. It works identically as available in traditional switchboard function of grouping connections and works this way: incoming call is directed at the same time to all predefined callers and the connection is integrated with this one which is first answered. Virtual Fax also was modified – there has been added possibility to integrate Mail2Fax with MS Office Outlook client, number of faxes inbox and fax console is displayed, time mask was introduced and possibility to print out fax mail transmission report.
Changes in FreecoNet include also speech synthesis. There have been introduced new version of IVONA speech synthesis software that reads texts more fluently. The range of available voices on FreecoNet platform: Ewa, Jacek and Jennifer (British English) was extended with four new voices: Eric (American English), Carmen (Georgian) and two new polish voices Jan i Maja. Speech synthesis on FreecoNet platform is widely employed with additional services and gained reputation for it.
