FreecoNet with VoIP users of Mediatel SA 28.10.2010

Internet telephone users of Mediatel SA who used to use "Linia VoIP" services have joined FreecoNet. It is 34th VoIP operator whose customers were transferred to the platform of FreecoNet.

The latest FreecoNet users are primarily mall and medium enterprises. They joined FreecoNet platform because of expiry of „Linia VoIP” services provided by Mediatel. The operator offered its customers to use FreecoNet services. A platform account was established for every interested user and the previous number was transferred to the new account. The operation required only reconfiguration of setup data of previous Mediatel customers at VoIP gateway or IP phone.

The takeover concludes migration of VoIP customers of Mediatel SA to the platform operated by FreecoNet. In August 2010 IPTanifon and Mediatel 4B users belonging to Mediatel SA group were transferred to the platform. In September 2010 FreecoNet concluded the process of transferring Tlenofon users. Earlier, in June 2009 FreecoNet also took over users of 30 VoIP operators who provided services using fon24.pl platform owned by Netia (including, among others, Halo Interia, Fonea, Darmowe Rozmowy, TeleGadu). All these operators concluded their business operations following transfer of their customers to FreecoNet.

There are still many smaller VoIP service provided on the market who have no chance to compete with traditional telecoms due to their small size. Therefore they will merge with larger operators. Ultimately a few major players will remain on the market. We intend to actively participate in this consolidation process” - said Mr. Jan Wyrwiński, President of the Board of FreecoNet Tlenofon SA.
